Three Night Songs was composed in 2021 for Sam Allchurch and the Sydney Chamber Choir through the support of the ABC Classic FM and ABC Jazz FM Composer Commissioning Fund. All three songs set texts by female poets, past and present. Though not intended as a religious work, Three Night Songs possesses a sacred quality evoked through the use of early music sensibilities encapsulated in a modernistic sound-world. Commissioned by Birralee Voices for their 2017 Voices from the Trenches Choral Festival, ‘Ne Les Oublions Jamais’ is dedicated to the Australian’s who fought on the Somme in the Great War.   There are influences from the English Pastoral style of the turn of the 20th century, and dissonance and angular melodies pervade the ‘battle scene’.  Published by the Australian Music Centre https://www.australianmusiccentre.com.au/workversion/percy-heather-ne-les-oublions-jamais/39103
